At the end of the 1990s I traded my NIKONOS underwater camera for a SONY digital video camera. I began my mini-career as a cameraman with footage of shark behavior, broadcast in a 52-minute documentary, “Vautours des mers” (2003), produced by Saint-Thomas Production for Canal+.
“À bout de souffle”, awarded a Palme d’or at the World Festival of Underwater Pictures in Antibes in 2002.
In parallel, I started directing wildlife documentaries. The first, “À bout de souffle”, tells the tragic death of a blue whale in New Caledonia. It was followed by several 26-minute documentaries filmed in Hawaii, Vanuatu and Christmas Island among other places, broadcast on France Ô between 2004 and 2010.
In 2011/2012, I directed two 52-minute documentaries entitled “Chesterfield, oasis de la mer de Corail”, about the scientific expedition of the same name, and “La passe de tous les dangers”, about the groupers of the Fakarava pass in the Tuamotu Islands of French Polynesia, broadcast on ARTE. My humorous short film “Plasticos” received the jury prize at the Mayotte underwater image festival in 2013.
